The Intake Coordinator I is responsible for supporting the overall operations of the San Francisco Intake Department by processing intakes. Intake Coordinators are also responsible for record-keeping, reporting, and monitoring in order to ensure that all program performance standards and regulations are fulfilled. This role requires considerable ability to use data entry skills, good judgment and critical thinking in making routine decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service and Communication:
Welcomes clients to healthRIGHT360 substance abuse, mental health, and gambling services and provides high quality customer service.
Conducts face-to-face interviews with clients to screen for appropriate treatment needs.
Communicates and coordinates with outside referral agencies and stakeholders via phone, fax, email, and in person.
Data Entry and Compliance:
Ensures all required admission paperwork is completed accurately and entered in a timely manner in multiple electronic data systems.
Makes program placements based on client needs and bed availability.
Maintains client triage /wait-list and conducts daily overview of program services.
Screening and Assessments:
Identifies and evaluates an individual's strengths, weaknesses, problems, and needs for the development of a treatment plan.
Conduct level of care assessments to help determine eligibility for withdrawal management and residential substance use disorder treatment services.
Utilizes agency’s assessment tools to gather client information for admissions directly from the client.
And other duties assigned.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education Required:
Registration with Drug and Alcohol Certification recognized by DHCS.
High School diploma or equivalent.
First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment.
CPR Certified within 30 days of employment.
Desired:
Drug and Alcohol Certification recognized by DHCS.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
Background clearance:
Must not be active on parole or probation.
Knowledge:
Culturally competent and able to work with diverse populations.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft office applications, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel, and internet applications.
Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, gambling disorders, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.

Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data.

Knowledge of drug and alcohol addictions.
Experience working with mental health symptoms and disorders.
Experience working with criminal justice population.
