The Lourie Center, Adventist HealthCare, is hiring a full-time Behavior Technician in Rockville, Maryland who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. The Lourie Center for Children's Social & Emotional Wellness is a private, non-profit agency with a mission to improve the social and emotional health of young children and their families through prevention, early intervention, education, research and training. As the Behavioral Technician, you will: •Assist the Behavior Specialist with behavior reduction assessments for the children. •Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment. •Collect data, charted findings, and provided reports to parents and behavior analysts. •Use crisis training, when necessary, to maintain the safety of students and coworkers. •Assist specialists in addition of new programs to child's skill acquisition plan. •Work with the children to help build them non-vocal and vocal communication skills, social interactions, and problem-solving skills. •Actively participate in the implementation of treatment and parent training. •Create a safe, enjoyable and supportive environment for students while assisting with skill acquisition. Qualifications Include: •Bachelor’s degree in education or child psychology required. •Minimum of 2 years’ experience with young children, preferably those with emotional/behavioral difficulties. •Crisis intervention/prevention training with children. • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
