Location: #LI-Hybrid About the Role: We are looking for a Bank Examiner/Risk Specialist who will focus on Legal and Compliance Risk as a full-time dedicated team member with responsibilities for the regulatory supervision of a large (over $100 billion in assets) Supervised Insurance Organization (SIO). In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the Federal Reserve’s supervisory program for Legal and Compliance Risk through the lens of an insurance bank holding company. The majority of your time will be spent with the dedicated team conducting supervisory activities with an emphasis on analyzing and assessing Legal and Compliance Risk and risk management practices. Additional responsibilities will be tailored based on the candidate’s interests and risk profile of the SIO. The interdisciplinary coordination required of the team is substantial, requiring the ability, and providing the opportunity, to work collaboratively with other units within the Banking Supervision Department (Department), Board of Governors (Board Staff), and other regulatory agencies. In this position, you will also have opportunities to contribute to Federal Reserve System (FRS), FRB Dallas, and Department initiatives by participating on committees and projects. Additionally, the FRS and FRB Dallas offer extensive opportunities for training. This position will be managed out of the San Antonio branch office and report to the Director – Examination (DE)/ Central Point of Contact (CPC) of the SIO. We use a hybrid work schedule that allows remote work, but requires some weekly on-site work in the office as well as onsite work at the SIO to conduct inspections and examinations. This position can be worked from the San Antonio or Dallas Branch. You Will: Lead supervisory assessments of the institution’s Legal and Compliance Risk program in accordance with the FRS’ SIO Framework. Conduct continuous risk-focused monitoring activities in your specialty area to observe risk trends, monitor for new issues, and assess remediation of any issues identified during a supervisor event. Recommend well supported regulatory ratings/assessments for your specialty area to FRB Dallas management. Lead meetings with SIO officials as well as FRB Dallas management to discuss issues and findings. Lead or participate in other supervisory events and activities of the supervised institution. Ensure work products are high quality and timely, include well supported conclusions that comply with System and District guidance, and accurately summarize and communicate findings. Build and maintain effective working relationships with your team, other Reserve Bank colleagues, FRB Dallas management, Board staff, representatives from other regulatory agencies, and SIO management. Share your views and be open to, and respectful of, others’ views and perspectives. Be open to feedback and willing to coach and develop others. You Have: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field. Professional certifications and/or advanced degree is a plus. Minimum five years of experience assessing Legal and Compliance Risk is a plus. Regulatory experience (including oversight of insurance companies) is a plus. An examiner commission from a federal or state bank supervisory agency is a plus. Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above. Strong communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal, and organizational skills are necessary; the position involves professional interaction with SIO management, senior management of the Reserve Bank, Board Staff, financial services industry, and other regulatory agencies. Ability to work well in a team environment while providing strong leadership and managing multiple tasks. This role allows for the employee to work in a hybrid manner with some work conducted onsite at the Federal Reserve work location and some work conducted remotely. For this specific role, 2-3 days per week of work can be conducted remotely. Specific schedule details will be discussed during the recruitment process.
