Job Description Fabletics is seeking an experienced and talented Software Engineering Manager for the Fabletics Web team. In this role, you will provide equal parts personnel management and operational expertise, with a strong emphasis on effectively leading teams of software engineers to ensure on-time and quality delivery of code and feature work. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for driving results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. How Do You Fit In? As the Engineering Manager for Fabletics you will provide thought leadership, delivery ownership, create operational efficiencies, and help to establish a technical strategy for the teams and their products. You will provide guidance to employees & contractors on both technical and personnel matters and will be the primary leader for day-to-day operations within the teams. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in both mobile and web application development, especially with large ecommerce applications. This position will report to the Director of Engineering and will work in a collaborative fast-paced agile environment working alongside other Engineering Manager(s), Product Owners, Software Engineers, QA Analysts, and other cross-functional teams. What you will do: Lead, mentor, and manage teams of software engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their success and professional growth. Foster a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture, promoting innovation, learning, and continuous improvement. Oversee the end-to-end software development process, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality code and features that meet business requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA resources, to define project goals, priorities, and deliverables. Develop and maintain project plans, resource allocation, and timelines to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects. Identify and mitigate risks and bottlenecks, proactively addressing issues that may impact project delivery or team performance. Drive technical excellence and best practices across the engineering teams, advocating for code quality, scalability, maintainability, and performance. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development methodologies, and apply this knowledge to improve processes and drive innovation within the organization. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and develop career growth plans for team members. Collaborate with the recruitment team to attract and hire top engineering talent, ensuring the team is appropriately staffed to meet project demands. Establish and maintain documentation of engineering processes, guidelines, and standards. What you can bring: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred. 5 years’ experience managing and mentoring an engineering team(s) within an agile environment. 3 years of hands-on software engineering experience within a large scale and highly available environment Proven experience in personnel management, leading and motivating teams of software engineers. Experience with headless CMS solutions. Experience with contemporary front-end web frameworks (e.g., React). Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development, preferably in e-commerce or web applications. Familiarity with multiple programming languages, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript. In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, agile practices, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Experience managing large-scale projects and driving successful delivery within tight deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering pragmatic and sustainable solutions. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and navigate through ambiguity. Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management. Knowledge utilizing Atlassian Suite (Jira / Confluence / BitBucket) or similar systems. The range provided includes the base salary that Fabletics expects to pay for the role. Offered base salary will be dependent on factors including the scope and complexity of the role, candidate’s related work experience, subject matter expertise and work location.
