1888 Industrial Services is adding an Assistant Controller addition to our growing team. This role will be integral in supporting the Controller, Senior, and Staff Accountants as well as our Management Team in our various services. ROLE: Assistant Controller
DEPARTMENT: Accounting
FUNCTIONAL REPORT: Reports to Controller
The Controller will provide additional training, and direction as needed.
These tasks and responsibilities may be edited and updated as needed.
FUNCTIONAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Controller with day to day accounting functions, including overseeing monthly close analysis and entries
Produce monthly financial statements; conduct monthly financial meetings with operations managers and CEO
Monitor revenue and costs by service lines, ensuring accuracy to operations managers forecasts
Analysis of Job profitability in a timely manner to help control expenses and assist with operational decisions; maintain WIP for bid jobs, monitor expected margins and validate and accrue revenue monthly
Equipment cost analysis and maintenance
Inventory analysis, reconciliation of GL to sub-ledger and recording of consumption. Includes periodic physical confirmation of existence of inventory
Balance sheet reconciliations
Manage staff, including Purchasing and A/P roles
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Bachelor of Arts/Science with a major in Accounting or Finance preferred
Accounting/Finance related experience, preferably across departments and levels
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Proficiency in Excel at an intermediate or higher level, including look-ups, pivot tables and charts
Clear and supportive communication
Ability to meet deadlines – may involve periods of required over-time at month end
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
