Position Title: Credit Analyst Department: Yuma LPO

STATUS: Non-Exempt GRADE: TBD 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Position Reports To: EVP/CCO or VP/Sr. Lending Officer Positions Supervised: N/A 

POSITION PURPOSE

The Credit Analyst offers support to staff in the Loan Production Office. This position performs tasks with the goal of increasing and managing the loan portfolio. Adheres to Core Values and promotes Value Driven Culture at all times. Performs duties in compliance with regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Prepares financial statement spreads and credit authorizations. 
  • Provides analysis for Loan Officers to assist in decisioning and presenting loans to the Loan Committee. 
  • Meets with customers as directed by Loan Officer. Participates in joint calling customers and prospects in collaboration with Loan Officers. 
  • Prepares annual term loan reviews.
  • Requests updated annual financial information as required for specific borrowers. Maintains a tracking system for such information. 
  • Assists Loan Officer in monitoring specific loans for covenant compliance. 
  • Assists Loan Processor in maintaining credit files and keeping them up to date. 
  • Adheres to Core Values and promotes Value Driven Culture at all times.
  • Responsible for complying with the Bank Secrecy Act policies and procedures, including attendance at annual training, as directed by the Bank Secrecy Act Officer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience preferred. 

Experience Required: One - three years’ experience in a similar or related field.

Required Knowledge: Knowledge of business skills and acumen. 

Skills/Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Strong organizational and problem solving skills are required.

Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery.

Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Employee may occasionally be required to stoop, 

 kneel, crouch, or crawl and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet; frequent interruptions during the day; average office environment in regard to temperature and lighting, occasional need to work off-site or outdoors; some city, or state travel may be required.

MENTAL DEMANDS

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Characteristics: Positive attitude; Must be self-motivated and able to function independently in a multi-task environment while also taking direction and working as part of a team. Must possess a high level of integrity, recognizing the need for discretion and confidentiality. Must be able to tactfully handle all situations and remain impartial. A collaborative work style is required.
