1st Financial Bank USA (1FBUSA), focuses on establishing and maintaining credit card relationships on a nationwide basis to the U.S. college and graduate student market and is currently hiring for a Manager of Accounting. This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
Job Overview:
The Manager of Accounting is responsible for the management of 1FBUSA’s financial functions and will provide financial management services to the organization. The person will work closely with the Senior Vice President of Finance and the Chief Financial Officer to identify, assess and recommend matters related to accounting pronouncements, financial/accounting and other matters.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Development and implementation of new financial reporting structures, standards and mechanisms.
- Development, implementation, and ongoing coordination of 1FBUSA’s budget and financial planning processes.
- Production of monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting.
- Ongoing evaluation and analysis of operating business units using financial analysis and modeling tools.
- Day-to-day maintenance and administration of the various applications and tools that comprise the system, and the continued security of information.
- Budget/actual variance analysis, trend analysis and forecasting, project profitability analysis, monthly and ad-hoc internal/external reporting.
- Analyze new accounting pronouncements from FASB on accounting matters.
Financial Control and Administration:
- Budgeting/forecasting knowledge and ability
- Proficient in planning and managing financial reporting cycles and general accounting practices
- Ability to interpret and implement financial standards, accounting controls and internal controls
- Ability to evaluate revenue and expense plans
- Ability to assess the financial impact of new products and services on revenues and expenses
- Ability to develop and make financial proposals which positively impact operations
- Working knowledge of the variables affecting banking and credit card business
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards and accounting policy matters
- Knowledge of general ledger system
Financial / Economic Analysis:
- Forecasting/Budgeting Experience in a Production Oriented Environment
- Statistical Modeling experience
- Ability to provide technical advice on principles and practices by which financial decisions are made
- Ability to conduct financial analyses that simplify management decision making and that assess economic impact
- Ability to perform financial and economic modeling
Forecasting:
- In-depth knowledge of cost / benefit analysis techniques
- Financial Modeling and projections
- Ability to anticipate the impact of economic and regulatory trends
Information Systems:
- Knowledge of and experience with database management systems
- Experience with or participation in financial systems design, testing and implementation
- General knowledge of interfaces between financial reporting systems
Supervisory Responsibilities: Limited to no supervisory responsibilities for finance staff.
Qualifications:
Education: BS/BA in Finance, Accounting or related field. An MS/MBA in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field is preferred. CPA is required.
Experience: Minimum three years of applicable experience in a production oriented environment.
