What is the role and where can you add value?
Geotechnical Report Reviews/Approvals for High Risk Area Enrollments
One requirement for the enrollment of structures built in designated high risk areas is the submission of a soils report. The reports are reviewed to determine the risk level associated with the site, what additional requirements for enrollment may be warranted, and to check that the foundation type recommended in the soils report is what the builder has informed us that he constructed. Risk Management Engineer may also review and write a synopsis of soils reports submitted by builders who are seeking Risk Management’s opinion as to the risk involved in building on a particular site.
Review Various Construction/Post Construction Inspections Submitted for Approval
Review inspections such as Final Inspections to determine if any deficiencies identified in the report will need to be corrected prior to the structure being enrolled in our program. The builder may be asked to provide more information or a re-inspection based on the content of the reports. On a case-by-case basis, determine if various risk management requirements are met.
Claim Investigations
As needed assist claim representatives in the inspection of residential properties with reported distress.
Insurance Specialty Group Geotechnical Report Reviews
Perform geotechnical report (soils reports) reviews for Insurance Specialty Group (ISG) as needed. Review and write a brief synopsis of the contents of soils reports sent to us from ISG. The emailed reviews contain information pertaining to subsurface soils information, soil remediation information, and any other information about the preparation of the site and construction requirements contained in the report. Included in the review is a subjective risk rating that informs ISG as to the likelihood of foundation issues occurring. Requirements for enrollment in 2-10 HBW warranty program as well as suggested requirements for peer reviews are listed.
