Advanced Operator General farm operations Land Preparations – tillage, plow, land plane, disc, spreader, planting, and rolling Harvesting equipment-planting, cutting, tedding, raking, moving, baling and wrapping Landscape tools-lawn mowers, weed eaters, hedge clippers, blowers and edger’s Implement movement-demonstrate ability to safe attached and detach implements from tractors/vehicles. Be able to determine proper speeds setting for field conditions Conduct preventative maintenance and communicate potential failures. Understand mechanical operation of equipment in use. Be able to diagnose mechanical or operational conditions. Assist mechanic with repairs. Have thorough understanding of how to operate GPS and troubleshoot faults as they arise. General Farm duties Road maintenance-grade and smooth gravel roads and parking lots Fence work-install, repair and maintain wooden and wire fences Become proficient with larger/more complex equipment – excavator, front end loader Landscape Maintain landscape using equipment such as-mowers, weed eaters, blowers, clippers General Housekeeping items Pressure washing-equipment, concrete and buildings Equipment cleaning-to maintain the life of the equipment manually or with water/air Safety Use of PPE wherever and whenever required Identifying potentially unsafe acts and finding a safer way to accomplish the task. Monitor all equipment for safety or environmental hazards. Down equipment as needed and complete necessary paperwork. Run equipment at safe rates. Understand permits that are required, when needed and how to complete them. LN Water Operations Review tank levels and Create schedule for application plan for the day Collect water samples and conduct QA testing Complete daily QA, application and discharge paperwork Understand the piping and ability to reroute water to different tanks or applications depending on potential equipment failures Learning water systems on both farms as necessary Complete maintenance on the pivot nozzles and pads-complete WO to include parts Complete maintenance on pivots with LN mechanic as needed Maintain pivot roads and equipment around center pivot as needed Communicate with EH&S Manager with pond levels and releases Additional responsibilities Train new operators on how and why to operator equipment properly Lead hay harvest -give direction, communicate plan and provide assistance as needed Mix and apply Pesticides under direction of Licensed Applicator Demonstrate leadership including planning, make decisions and fosters teamwork Work overtime and weekends as needed to meet business needs.
