What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Foreman position at 2B Farming?
2B Farming has an opening for an experienced Field Foreman to oversee all aspects of crop production. The Field Foreman will perform and execute daily tasks according to priority and plans, adjusting, as necessary. Field Foreman tasks including but not limited to; employee supervision, tree health, pest control, and allocating general and daily responsibilities. Must be able to report any issues or variances immediately, along with providing recommendations for corrections. Responsible for the coordination of all inputs, such as planting, irrigation, fertilizer applications, and pest management. The Field Foreman is accountable for ensuring that the completed work meets quality standards and ensures that all safety rules are being followed at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Will assist the Ranch Manager in all aspects of the ranch
- Must demonstrate knowledge of scheduling and executing crop inputs including, but not limited to, planting, cultivation, applications, fertilizer, and irrigation and coordinating sprays
- Identify problems with crop and make recommendations for management consideration
- Coordinating chemical applications and identify materials needed for each job
- Recognize and prevent common types of tree diseases on the tree that we could avoid as well as insect damage so we can act on time
- Training trees
- Understanding of tractor work: Mowing, discing, scraping, and cultivation
- Knowledge of crop requirements: pests, weeds, water, fertilizer, production practices, spraying, mowing, weeds, etc.
- Hands-on understanding of farming equipment utilized in crop production- safety, operation, and maintenance.
- Maintain all aspects of the irrigation system: Identify and fix irrigation issues, troubleshoot panels, order irrigation parts, and materials
- Water: Coordinate and maintain water schedule, communicate accurately and effectively with the water district, coordinate, and place water orders, gathering and submitting monthly water meter reports, assist with water meter readings to avoid going over-allocated amount
- Pruning: Oversee pruning work for all crews, identify cuts needed based on tree size
- Performing all other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- The ability to stay calm, think logically and act correctly while under pressure
- Perform activities on schedule, maintain regular attendance, and be punctual
- Must have excellent communication skills to interact with colleagues and executives
- Ability to work long hours, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to travel to all farming areas regularly
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

- On call
