GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Responsible for maintenance of inventory and supplies within the Branch including but not limited to; receiving, storing, and shipping; securing warehouse; supervising shipping/receiving staff and truck drivers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain warehouse by organizing shelving, yard and floor space; recommending improvements as needed
- Maintain inventory accuracy by conducting or supervising daily cycle counts, reconciling variances and inputting data into ERP system
- Assist in attaining Branch objectives by training, assigning, scheduling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures
- Meet warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements
- Move inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from other warehouses when necessary; coordinating inventory transfers with other Branch locations
- Ensure the security of the warehouse and yard by implementing and adhering to protocols established in cooperation with the Branch/Store Manager
- Keep equipment in optimal condition by enforcing proper operation; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; and calling for repairs, as needed
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications and attending training sessions provided by vendors
- Assist in maintenance of inventory control and cycle counts; working closely with the Purchasing Department and adhering to the guidelines set by the company
- Performs, or supervises daily inventory shipping/receiving functions.
- Performs other related duties as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
