What We’re Looking For:

The Program Director II role is inclusive of all responsibilities of the Program Director I role, but a Program Director II is responsible for developing the strategic operational priorities of their assigned portfolio, managing and working with higher-level stakeholders to implement priorities, escalate issues, and ensure program success. A Program Director II utilizes their extensive expertise and experience to delegate tasks as appropriate, complete project management, reporting, and analysis responsibilities in a more timely fashion, allowing them greater time to focus on stakeholder management and program strategy planning.

 

Key Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Stakeholder Management 
    • Effectively build and own partner relationships at the Assistant Dean level and below, as well as other leadership (to include central functions such as Financial Aid, Registrar, IT) at and across the school to ensure program success and drive strategic operational priorities
    • Effectively build and maintain relationships at the Dean level, in order to escalate program blockers and drive operational priorities
    • Effectively build and own internal relationships at the Sr. Director level and below Effectively matrix-manage a cross-functional team to ensure program success and drive strategic operational priorities
  • Support Program Growth and/or Overall Efficiency 
    • Manage and hold accountable internal and external stakeholders to implement the strategic vision for program success
    • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and efficiency within the programs
    • Think creatively and drive initiatives from inception to implementation
    • Effectively communicate all relevant information to various stakeholders within 2U and with the school
    • Understand complex programs, processes and organizational structures and be able to function effectively within them
    • Support the General Manager in sales and growth opportunities within portfolio of programs
  • Process Development and Improvement 
    • Think critically and strategically about current processes, systems and relationships and identify possible issues before they become problematic
    • Manage and create extensive workflow, processes and documentation between systems and groups
    • Ensure scalability and alignment of best practices in recommended changes
  • Project Management 
    • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support and achieve business priorities – update and adapt to tactical and strategic changes as needed
    • Set, continually manage and communicate project expectations to internal and external stakeholders
    • Prioritize requests and escalate as appropriate to senior management
    • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, resolve and communicate problem areas
    • Identify and implement recommendations as a result of lessons-learned
  • Reporting, Budgeting & Revenue/Invoice Reconciliation 
    • Perform data analysis and compilation for tracking and reporting purposes
    • Compile various reports, PPT’s and other materials for reporting program information to various stakeholders, with attention given to ensuring materials are reflective of the appropriate audience
    • Perform on-time financial reconciliation for assigned programs in accordance with contract stipulations, ensuring revenue collection in the appropriate quarter
  • Other 
    • Handle or delegate additional operational and administrative tasks as needed

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred
  • 6-8 years experience, with roles in operations, project, or program management
  • 2 years of Program Director I experience
  • Currently surpassing expectations in your latest Performance Review
  • Proven track record in creative problem-solving
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Completion of Unconscious Bias, Allyship, and Executive Presence training
  • Expert Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite (Slides, Sheets, Drive)
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Lucid Chart (or similar)

The anticipated base salary range for this role is ($56,000k -$58,000k), with potential bonus eligibility.  Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
