PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Plans, develops, and directs Human Resources functions in accordance with the overall objectives for a harmonious employer-employee relation, adequate staffing, competitive compensation/benefits programs, fairness in policy administration and optimum safety/environmental health. Provides counsel and assistance to other members of management and employees on personnel related issues. Manages the EHS system.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
· Requires the ability to plan, direct, and supervise the Human Resource function in support of company operations.
· Must have a thorough knowledge of the benefit programs, wage and salary administration, plant safety, employment laws, budgeting, and other personnel related topics.
· Must know the techniques for conducting interviews.
· Must be aware of the company objectives for positive employee relations and have good human relations skills.
· Requires the ability to maintain specified records, files, and logs and to compile data, prepare and present reports.
· Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Must have management and administrative skills.
· Must have computer skills and know company programs and systems necessary to provide HR support required.
· Must have previous experience in an HRIS. Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· A bachelor’s degree in human resources or three to five years professional Human Resource experience in progressively responsible and supervisory positions.
· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Develops programs, policies, procedures, and systems regarding the full scope of Human Resources functions.
· Provides an effective workforce through the recruitment, interview, and recommendation for the selection personnel.
· Directs the administration of the employee benefit programs including health insurance, life insurance, holidays, vacation, employee assistance program, disability, Workers' Compensation, 401(k), FMLA, etc.
· Makes recommendations for improvements and/or changes in wage and benefit programs consistent with the needs of the company.
· Develops compensation programs in accordance with company guidelines.
· Collaborates with management in the development of business plans and strategic planning.
· Represents the company in an official capacity at hearings, meetings, community affairs, business functions, professional organizations, etc., as requested.
· Plans, supervises, and coordinates employee activities programs.
· Ensures OSHA compliance and environmental safety for the plant.
· Directs the administration of safety and environmental programs and conducts safety meetings and safety work throughout the plant facility.
· Plans and/or conducts new employee orientation.
· Negotiates and contracts with outside vendors to provide support services such as vending, EAP, temporary employee services, etc.
· Provides counsel, guidance, and assistance to management in all aspects of Human Resource related issues, policy and procedure interpretation.
· Facilitates all employee communications meetings (plant meetings, monthly meetings, picnics, parties, birthdays, management dinners, etc.).
· Oversees the drug testing program.
· Conducts and documents exit interviews.
· Directs and oversees the maintenance of confidential personnel files, medical and training records, and related information in support of the H/R function.
· Conducts community wage and benefit surveys, ensuring the company's competitive position on such issues is maintained.
· Counsels with employees, resolves problems, interprets policies, and provides assistance as needed to ensure positive employee relations are maintained.
· Ensures adherence to the guidelines and directives of EEOC, OSHA, and Affirmative Action programs and provides for the accurate documentation and reporting.
· Ensures all involuntary terminations are consistent with sound H/R and company policies and procedures; serving as a clearance point for all such actions.
· Prepares and recommends approval of department budget and ensures expenditures remain within established guidelines.
· Oversees the preparation and processing of all Worker's Compensation and unemployment compensation matters.
· Compiles data and prepares various reports, recaps, and summaries of personnel related information in support of the company H/R function.
· Plans, assesses needs and coordinates all training activities including management and employee development, foreign language, GED, etc.
· Develops and maintains employee handbook to reflect current company policies and procedures; updates as required.
· Maintains good housekeeping standards in assigned area.
· Performs other duties as required.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
