POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cost Accountant is responsible for planning and directing accounting activities within a finance department or division of an organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Coordination of cost accounting and reporting activities

· Forecast and analyze cost of processes, labor, and inventory

· Review of sales pricing and maintaining pricing for sales team and customer service

· Establish annual labor and overhead rate and review monthly

· Review, investigate and explain production variances on a routine basis

· Provide support for annual physical inventories and cycle counts, and inventory analysis

· Drive and support continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing and business processes

· Ability to perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support business

· Assist with monthly close process

· Drive work process improvements

· Coordination of financial presentations

· Backup for the company Director of Finance for Financial reporting

· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required:

o Bachelor's degree in Accounting from four-year college or university.

o 3 Years of manufacturing industry experience

o Strong communication/interpersonal skills, reading and writing skills in English to communicate effectively with various levels of management and staff members.

o Knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Inventory software; Manufacturing ERP software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

o Ability to problem-solve; Gather and analyze information skillfully.

o Ability to be cost consciousness; Develop and implement cost saving measures.

o Ability to work with integrity and ethically; uphold organizational values.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a fast-paced office setting with frequent interruptions. Duties may require sitting for long periods of time. The occasion need to drive a vehicle to other work locations may be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
