Junior Applications Developer

This is a role for someone who is passionate about modernizing processes and solving tough challenges through the following activities: Building low-code web and mobile apps Streamline repetitive or manual tasks Automate reporting and building dashboards An Application & Automation Developer is a mesh of a solution architect, analyst, UI/UX designer, and a bot/app developer, who is responsible for the design, development and testing of solutions for our internal partners. Your solutions will drive actionable improvements to our business and must be customer focused and innovative. This position reports to the Manager, Business Intelligence and Enablement in the U.S. Gas business unit. What you’ll do Seek to become a subject matter expert but stay humble. Continue learning and trying new technology and tools and services that will be needed to architect your solutions. Be a Power Platform fanatic, LEARN EVERYTHING about Power Apps and Power Automate and explore as many other application and automation development tools and services as you can (Office 365, AWS, etc) Learn about and explore opportunities and use cases to leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence to improve data quality, automate manual tasks or improve user experience. Be a disrupter, challenge the status quo, and encourage team members and partners in the business unit to embrace what is possible and think 'outside of the box' Contribute to the thought leadership on our team and be an advocate and support citizen development within the business unit. Demonstrate and teach leading practices for application and automation development. Minimum Qualifications Requires relevant post-secondary education (typically a bachelor’s degree) with 2 years of experience in application, data analytics or development related work. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Degrees desired in Accounting, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Psychology, or related field. Knowledge of software development best practices and agile delivery methodology 1 or more years of experience application configuration/development Preferred Qualifications Certifications desired in application development, data analytics, data science, data management from accredited institutions such as AWS and Microsoft. Preferred knowledge of relational and dimensional database structures, theories, principles, and practice Preferred 1 year or more years of experience with Power Apps and Power Automate 2 years or more of experience working with a programming or query language (for example: Python, Javascript, Java, C#, C, C , R, Swift, PHP, Ruby, Kotlin, VBA, Power Query (M), DAX, SQL, Spark, Hive, Jaql, etc) Experience in effective UI/UX design Preferred experience with Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, etc.) Preferred Proficiency working with REST APIs Preferred Experience with effective data visualization design 2 or more years post-educational experience in application/software development, data analytics, business intelligence or information management This position requires candidates to: Be highly self-motivated Have exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities To creatively take on new challenges and work outside comfort zone Be relentless focus on improving customer experience and the intuition of all delivered solutions Have strong written and oral communication skills Have a track record of innovation and creativity.
