Job Details: Job Summary: Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Intern. Perform and assist all areas of VHSIC Hardware Description Language (VHDL) development including creating requirements for designs, selection of host programmable devices, simulation/modeling of VHDL design, implementation of design and hardware testing onto host FPGA, test of overall communication system, and documentation of the design. This position typically works under close supervision and direction. 12-week summer experience with the possibility to extend Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Supports basic design, simulation and testing of VHDL-embedded logic. Obtains, correlates and analyzes technical information for designated products and/or customer applications. Performs FPGA device trade studies/resource estimates as directed. Reads, interprets and prepares data for engineering drawings. Keeps informed of improvements in electrical engineering techniques. Minimum Job Requirements: U.S. citizenship. Enrolled in a four-year college degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline. Has taken Verilog or VHDL course; exposure to C, C , or embedded microcontroller preferred. Familiar with standard lab test equipment. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to use typical office automation products such as word processors and spreadsheets. Ability to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks and work under deadlines.
