Job Description This position is located in the Investigative Services Division in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Major Work Duties A forensic auditor is a finance specialist who collects and analyzes financial data for criminal investigations. These auditors can work with several types of white-collar crimes with a focus on forensic accounting. The investigator will independently conduct and/or assist other agents with complex, forensic financial investigation, to include forensic financial audits, analyzing bank records/documents and other financial records for evidence and inconsistencies. Investigator will investigate/assist with fraud, money laundering, bribery, embezzlement, and any other crime consisting of financial irregularities regarding state and federal law. The investigator will testify in state and federal court. Prepare and assist with search warrant preparation. Participate in search warrant service and evidence collection. Conduct/assist with forensic financial audits, analyze bank records/documents and other financial records for evidence and inconsistencies. Investigator will investigate/assist with fraud, money laundering, bribery, embezzlement, and any other crime consisting of financial irregularities regarding state and federal law. Provide training to agents and requesting agencies regarding white-collar crime. Provide courtroom testimony. Education and Experience Minimum 21 years of age. Four-year degree from an accredited university with major in accounting or related finance field preferred. Successful applicant will be licensed as a Certified Accountant (CPA) and/or be a Certified Forensic Auditor (CFA) and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Acceptable combination of accounting experience along with financial and fraud investigations experience and education would be considered in lieu of accounting degree. Applicant should have knowledge of financial laws and regulations, as well as investigative techniques. Applicant should also have one to three years accounting experience, usually as a general accountant. Preference will be given to applicant with the above-stated education/qualifications currently holding a CLEET certification as a commissioned law enforcement officer. Special Requirements Successful applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screen, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation (commissioned positions only), and a thorough background investigation. Certain events automatically disqualify an applicant, such as, felony conviction; admission of an undetected crime that, if known, would have been a felony charge; failure to pay federal or state income tax; positive confirmed drug urine test; illegal use of a controlled substance within certain time frames.
