Interface is looking for a Concept Designer to join our team in Atlanta, GA. The Concept Designer is a vital member of the Concept Design team within the Interface Design Studio. We will rely on your creativity, proactiveness, and self-guided problem-solving skills to help propel design at Interface to the next level. Position summary: The Concept Designer will support both the Interface sales force and Interface Marketing team with the creation of innovative & custom floor plans and room scene renders that are both aesthetically and functionally driven and design forward. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of delivering creative design solutions with the ability to solve challenges and take ownership of projects from start to finish. A strong candidate will be both artistically minded and business savvy to effectively interact with Interface account executives and external members of the A&D community. Essentials Functions: Read and interpret architectural plan/floor plans for the use in customer deliverables Ability to interpret a customer’s vision into a concept and translate it into flooring designs or room scenes specific to each request Create high-quality, design forward 2D and 3D floor renderings including floor plans and room scenes using stock photos as well as customer provided images Excellent working knowledge of Interface product collections and key target segments and the ability to use that knowledge to recommend product and design to fulfill and enhance customer design requests Provide estimates and/or installation guides to accompany designs for approved flooring concepts as needed Present ideas and design solutions to clients and Interface colleagues both in-person and virtually Collaborate with Product Development, Creative and Marketing teams as needed on specific projects and/or deliverables Maintain positive relationships with customers, sales reps, and internal partners and provide exceptional customer service (working with business leaderships, sales associates, A&D Community), including providing AE and customer support via telephone, email, and video conference Work closely with Concept scheduler and Concept Lead on assigned projects Maintain best practices for file management that meet system-wide format, including consistent application of file naming conventions and file/folder organization Comply with safety rules and environmental regulations Educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design or related field preferred. In lieu of degree, equivalent work experience is acceptable. Preferred Skills and Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of design experience in a flooring or textile environment Proficiency in some or all design software platforms/tools – Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign and Illustrator), VIR , Revit or SketchUp. AutoCAD, Callidus & Backstage experience a plus Familiarity with Salesforce platform Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Knowledge of current commercial interior design trends Interest and understanding of adjacent industries, including furniture, lighting, etc Ability to self-start in a fast paced, customer service focused design environment Communication & Language Requirements: Proficient in English Excellent communication skills, written, verbal, and presentation Work Environment & Travel Requirements: Predominantly open office environment with moderate exposure to manufacturing areas Flexible work arrangements including both in-office and remote work Occasional travel to LaGrange, GA campus #LI-Hybrid We are a VEVRAA Federal Contractor.
