Healthcare Information Management – Summer Intern
Where You’ll Work:
Evernorth’s Global Data & Analytics team is seeking a 2025 Summer Intern who has a passion for improving processes and loves working on things that make an impact. Be a part of our purpose-driven organization!
In your role as a Healthcare Information Management Intern you will support the identification and solutioning of Business needs and protection of externally shared data and supporting the alignment of Request Intake Processes to the target operating model and Enterprise level Data Governance protocols to enable Outbound Data Feed Certification standards at the Enterprise level. You will engage with a number of different business groups and functions, including CIP, Enterprise Data Governance, Privacy, Third Party Data Exchange, etc, and a number of different roles, including Data Analysts, Marketing and Sales Teams, Product Owners and others. You will learn about Data Protection, Business Process Transformation, Project Management, and will be contribute to tangible results and improvement in compliance to Security and Policy standards and data security. You will help manage organizational change, provide actionable insights, and deliver capabilities necessary to protect Cigna data and brand.
What You’ll Do:
Bring fresh perspective – serve as a catalyst to leverage your personal insight, experience and unique frame-of-reference to drive new ideas/approaches and positive solutions
Collaborate across the Enterprise to deliver results – to gather and share requirements, discuss challenges & opportunities, work tactically to implement data purchases and ensure correct integration of alignment of purchased data
Create and tell compelling stories – distill complex Business needs & challenges into data informed solutions
Define, document and validate data needs- diving deep to infer meaning and uncover insightful data trends which inform local market decisions
Data and Contract Research - Analyze existing & proposed data sources, data quality and data usage models and lineage
Define Best Practices – Assist with documentation of External Data Exchange “how to” and “best practices” guidance
Qualifications:
Rising Junior or Senior pursuing degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Analytics, Information Management and Security or other related analytics majors with a cumulative GPA 3.0 preferred

Highly fluent with Microsoft Office suite, as well as collaborative/shared work sites such as SharePoint, Confluence, OneDrive

Additional Information:
Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work week for 12 weeks summer 2025, beginning May 19, 2025.
Location: Role is aligned to the Bloomfield, CT office and will require 3 days/week in office, with the flexibility to do 5 days/week in office if desired.
Compensation: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate between $23.50 and $27.00 an hour depending on relevant factors, including major and year of study.
Work Authorization: One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with The Cigna Group post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
