The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The Patient Support Specialist is the main point of contact on transition related sales activities. The role will focus on proactively generating sales revenue from transitions and coordinating with the Advantage Center on necessary paperwork relating to transition sales. The Patient Support Rep will round hospital floors on a daily basis to facilitate sales and generate leads under the direction of the Regional Sales Manager. The PSS will assist with account management activities and assist customers with invoicing, credit and collections issues, as well as conduct inventory management to recover lost assets. The PSS will be an integral part of the team, work collaboratively with the surgical solutions and wound healing managers in the assigned geography. The role will be responsible for achieving strategic and financial goals from assigned customers. The role will primarily work in the hospital setting, but will also have responsibility for traveling to LTAC’s (Long Term Acute Care), Wound Care Centers, and Physician Offices in order to generate sales.

- Driving Sales and 3M revenue by leveraging current customer relationships in assigned area.
- Presenting and reinforcing 3M value proposition to differentiate 3M from competitive offerings.
- Achieving financial and strategic goals from assigned customers.
- Managing sales territory by selling territory plan to efficiently drive strategic goals (Transition Quotas)
- Using customer education programs, tools and presentations.
- Generating patient transitions and providing administrative support to sales by: developing and managing relationships with Discharge Planners, Case Managers, 3M Customer Service Reps and others involved in the VAC Therapy and other product transition process.
Company Vehicle
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
- Current, valid Driver's License
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience in Medical Device sales
- Experience in asset management
- Experience with business to business sales
- Experience working with Discharge Planners and Case Managers
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
