Reporting to the VP, Global Security, this position provides leadership, directs, plans, and manages all resources to include department budgets, personnel assignments, and equipment purchase & utilization for Security; Risk Management, Facility Emergency Planning, Facility Protection & Security Services.  Is the principal liaison to Local Law Enforcement, Emergency Management Agency, Emergency Medical Services.  This position provides consulting and advisory services to Corporate Management within the Company in the areas Security, Loss Prevention and Risk Management. 

Through liaison with site level security representatives at other U.S. PAC locations, ensure that the business is fully supported and protected in relation to security issues, provide divisional leadership through security advice, support and recommendation of business security risk activities.

Local Site Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and execution of all security procedures and protocols for both the Lincoln and Cumberland, RI facilities. In collaboration with relevant peers assist in the creation and implementation of emergency response and contingency plans. Ensure all operations conform to the company’s security policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations. Evaluate all applicable domestic, state, local and vendor specific requirements and regulations with regards to security procedures. Maintain good working relationships with all agencies.
  • Develop budgets and manage activities to accomplish financial objectives. This will include continuous improvement measures that will increase overall productivity within the organization, while reducing costs.
  • Conduct security vulnerability assessments of various aspects of the operation including but not limited to, building penetration, transportation and storage of precious metal, intellectual property theft, etc. Track trends in incident reporting and develop action plans to mitigate risks identified through trending reports. Manage the investigation of security incidents related to theft or diversion of company assets, including precious metal cargo.
  • Must ensure that the facility remains in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security’s Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) Risk- Based Performance Standards.
  • Partner with Human Resources and/or Corporate Security to conduct internal policy or procedure investigations.
  • Oversee the scheduling, maintenance, and monitoring of all business-critical facility systems to ensure efficient operation.
  • Coordinate and direct major projects (e.g. acquisition and installation of capital equipment, major repairs, and plant layout changes) to the best scheduling and economic advantage.
  • Coordinate security audits for the facilities on an annually basis or as required. Develop action plan from the audit working with the Senior Site Leader. Provide any support necessary to complete the findings on a timely basis.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Divisional Security Manager- PAC Responsibilities

  • Support Materion business locations with security related matters (projects, investigations, etc.) as required. Attend and investigate all major incidents, liaise with and be the point of contact for local law enforcement and identify any possible weaknesses to make recommendations to improve the physical security at the location.  Track security operating costs to ensure locations are operating within budget expectations. 
  • Support the division in the detection and prevention of crime by investigating internal and external theft and fraud. Conduct route cause analysis and share recommendations and observations with the VP, Global Security, other security colleagues and the wider business community.   Ensure each location is in compliance with Corporate Security Standards. 
  • Monitor status of all site Security Improvement plans for timely closure of action items. Track the progress of remediation for all site audit findings (both internal and external audits).  Overdue actions to be provided to the VP, Global Security monthly.  Provide monthly quarterly progress reports to the VP, Global Security 

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Administration, General Business, or Management. 
  • Requires practical experience of Industrial Security Operations gained from 7 to 10 years in management or responsible charge positions. 
  • Board Certified Protection Professional designation accredited by the American Society for Industrial Security is desirable although equivalent training and experience is acceptable. 
  • Highly developed written and oral skills required. 
  • Presentation skills required. 
  • Team management, formulation, implementation, and participation skills required.  Good financial skill for budget and planning purposes are required. 
  • Working knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, Power Point, Project, Access, etc. is required.
