The Philadelphia, PA site manufactures a life-saving influenza vaccine, which is aseptically filled into sprayers for nasal administration. The site consists of two geographic locations - a facility at Red Lion Road in NE Philadelphia has about 140 full-time employees and the Bensalem storage and distribution facility has about 5 employees. The facilities are about 8 miles apart and both are situated close to I-95, the city of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia International Airport. Our product is sold in the US, UK, and other countries. Operations continue year-round, with the production season being in the summer (typically May-August). The Sr. Maintenance Facilitator is responsible for ensuring all production assets throughout the facility are operating and maintained. This will include scheduling of all maintenance activities, coordination of technical resources, and technical troubleshooting during commercial production. The position requires extensive collaboration within the PET, with other facilities roles, and with OEM suppliers. The Sr. Maintenance Facilitator is the primary owner for all production assets, and leads a team of maintenance mechanics responsible for asset uptime. This position leads lean improvement efforts to increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of production assets to maximize efficiency. What you'll do: Own production asset reliability and availability Oversee equipment troubleshooting – mechanical and electrical Schedule and direct PM, reactive maintenance, predictive maintenance and changeover activities Own PM content, effectiveness, and performance Co-own life cycle management of PET/facility assets Provide technical guidance to mechanic and technician personnel Provide coaching, career development, and performance development for maintenance mechanics Ensure proper technical support is available for all PET/facility activities Ensure all training is current and appropriate for maintenance mechanics Ensure documentation and systems (work order processes) are updated and maintained Ensure adherence to SHE and GMP (change control) compliance and improvements Participate in risk analysis of spare parts inventory Utilize problem solving to drive root cause analysis of machine failures Implement CAPAs related to equipment maintenance and performance Work collaboratively within PET as well as with Facilities Maintain presence across shifts Drive and support OEE improvement initiatives Develop and maintain relationships with OEM suppliers Qualifications: Required BS in engineering or related field or equivalent experience Minimum of 7 years’ experience in GXP or regulated production/R&D environment, specifically responsible for equipment performance Minimum of 2 years' experience leading a maintenance or engineering team Knowledge of facilities management Experience in Six Sigma/ analytical trouble shooting skills Experience leading in a lean manufacturing environment, able to coach personnel in lean Preferred Experience with Biopharmaceutical processes (aseptic processing, packaging operations...) Knowledge of TDMS, Microsoft applications, SAP Training or experience in the applicable following technologies: mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum technology, electronics, programmable logic controllers, refrigeration, freeze drying, test equipment for electrical and mechanical trouble shooting, HVAC, aseptic/controlled environment Why AstraZeneca At AstraZeneca, we’re dedicated to being a Great Place to Work.
