Financial Analyst - Commercial Credit

Overview: The Financial Analyst position is part of the Commercial Credit Team responsible for reviewing and assessing the credit quality of Marathon’s customer base. The individual will report to the Credit & Analysis Manager and have credit responsibility for all Eastern Asphalt customer related matters. The applicant must exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills along with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions and organizations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Direct credit responsibility for all Eastern accounts as well as asphalt cargo customers Financial statement reviews and credit assessment to determine an appropriate level of credit and/or security for customers. Monitor customer credit limits and take appropriate action if limits are exceeded. Lead collection of outstanding customer balances. Administration and negotiation of security instruments and other agreements such as letters of credit, parent company guarantees and confidentiality agreements. Periodic customer reviews and visits with territory manager business partners and customers. Utilize organizational skills to manage 300 portfolio of asphalt customers and work along with multiple internal territory managers. Develop and maintain key relationships internally with the business partners. Provide credit related subject matter expertise to supported operating groups. Complete special projects as needed. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting, Finance, or Marketing preferred 0-3 years of work experience is ideal for this role Experience in SAP, Allocation Manager, RightAngle, Salesforce is beneficial The successful candidate should have strong critical thinking and communication skills, ability to build relationships, and a drive for results.
