Title: Software Defined Radio Engineer KBR is a technology-driven company providing high-end, creative software and engineering solutions to critical national security missions across space, cyber, ISR, missile defense and intelligence domains. KBR provides our customers with systems engineering support for solving the full spectrum of signal processing challenges. Our multi-disciplinary teams tackle challenges across the navigation, communications, electronic warfare, and cyber security domains. DSP/SDR Engineers We are currently seeking multiple highly motivated individuals of various experience levels and one or more of the listed qualifications to join our team in either Beavercreek or Columbus Ohio. The positions are specifically for communications Software Defined Radio (SDR) transceiver development from new or existing prototype through to operational development. Desirable candidates’ salaries will reflect responsibilities and level of expertise. Applicants should be dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and working in an environment that encourages agile, mission-driven approaches for the creation of electronic warfare capabilities. Activities include DSP and RF hardware reverse engineering, control/logic software development, Digital Communications, SDR, and lab/field testing. Engineers can expect to work with RF communications equipment to explore various research and development objectives. Responsibilities ·Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment specializing in development of real-time signal processing products, applications, and algorithms. ·Digital transmitter design and development leveraging SDR (Software Defined Radio) and waveform development kit technologies such as GnuRadio, Matlab, Redhawk, OpenCPI. ·Creation and broadcast of communications broadcast signals with a variety of modulations. ·(Not required, but beneficial) Use of Xilinx SDK Vivado development tools to engineer wireless signals ·Development of DSP algorithms in C, C , Python, or VHDL programming languages ·Ability to draw from various knowledge bases and resources to solve complex problems. Qualifications ·Bachelor’s and/or Advanced Degrees in a relevant technical field ·(Not required, but beneficial) VHDL or interest in learning VHDL with experience in digital hardware design ·Ability to work with Linux-based operating systems ·Experience using Software Defined Radios (i.e. USRP, HackRF, Lime) ·Background in signals and systems, digital signal processing, digital communication theory, digital modulation, receiver design, and signal encoding (Forward Error Correction/CRC/Scrambling). ·Background in RF Protocols ·Technical writing and verbal communications skills are a significant plus. ·Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance In compliance with the U.S. federal government’s vaccine mandate, only candidates who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have a reasonable accommodation or approved medical exception will be considered for this position.
