Department: 10127 Advocate Aurora Health Corporate - CHIS: BI and Public Data Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Major Responsibilities: Provides technical support for the architectural design, creation, installation, and maintenance of the Enterprise Data Warehouse including data warehouse structures, ETL tools, interface, networking, data normalization, data modeling, SQL Server development and extract creation and management. Independently builds, tests, and implements ETL processes and structures per established control guidelines, including, but not limited to mapping of data between source systems, data warehouse and data marts and establishing dependencies and job schedules to ensure data flow and accuracy. Independently creates, optimizes, and tunes SQL code including but not limited to SSIS packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, queries, and views. Produces professional level documentation of system architecture, feeder systems data dictionary and version control Develops and adheres to system data validation procedures. Integrates Data Warehouse decision support services into the System’s business process, using knowledge and experience to assist in implementing ways to utilize enterprise data to make decisions. Independently provide analytical, technical, and problem resolution services to data warehouse structures, ETL tools, interface, and extract creation and management. Builds and maintains data extracts from outside source systems such as Workday and Epic. Manages and administers database and business intelligence tool scalability and growth, identifying systems or processes where improvement, automation, or additional functionality will lead to cost savings or result in increased efficiency, accuracy, or job quality for end users. Creates and maintains system development standards and change control methodologies and procedure Develops and implements database system automation policies and procedures when applicable. Works directly with the CHIS Team members to implement system design, application interfaces, system specifications and database utilization to maintain daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting needs. Effectively communicates with and responds to customers, team members, and key leaders providing thoughtful knowledge transfer and consultation. Provides technical consultation and direction of ETL solutions and data architecture Assists with the building and maintenance of reporting services reports as needed Mentors junior team members, promoting development of advanced analytic and technological skills. Implements and tracks auditing of processes and procedures. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required: None Required Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Information Technology/Computer Science Field Experience Required: Typically requires 5 years of data warehousing experience or SQL development. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Demonstrated success working with health care data, including physician and hospital claims, pharmacy claims, satisfaction data, lab results, electronic medical record data, finance, and HR data. Extensive knowledge and experience working with business intelligence systems, databases, and data models. Expertise with Microsoft SQL Server databases. Expert ability to create queries in SQL or other query languages/systems. Expert ability to use Visual Studio and applicable ETL tools. Proficient with MS-Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Demonstrates critical thinking, ability to problem solve, and is results oriented. Demonstrates strong attention to detail. Familiarity with networking fundamentals and database normalization concepts. Knowledge of application development, data modeling, and data requirements analysis. Ability to capture and read system diagnostic information to diagnose and resolve performance issues. Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and deploy backup and recovery tests. Knowledge of database design (physical and logical). Ability to work independently. Strong troubleshooting skills. Good verbal and written presentation skills with a customer focus. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to occasionally lift to 10 lbs. Must be able to use hands with fine manipulation when using keyboard. Must hold a valid driver's license and be willing to travel between Metro Region Hospitals as needed. Exposed to a normal office environment.
