66 to Cali is the original Route 66 shop in Santa Monica. We have been welcoming travelers to the road's traditional ending and educating visitors about Route 66 since 2009, the same year we created the world-famous Santa Monica 66 End of the Trail™ sign. We specialize in local and USA-made apparel, souvenirs, decorations, and guide books and offer expert info on traveling Historic Route 66 and other scenic or historic roads.
We’re looking for 1-2 additions to join our team in the dual role of sales associate and ambassador for Route 66 at our kiosk on Santa Monica Pier. As a road trip focused visitors center and gift shop ideal candidates should have a love of travel, willingness to learn, and be comfortable speaking with groups of visitors.
Prior retail experience including cash handling, knowledge of Route 66 and the west, and proficiency in languages other than English are strongly preferred but not required. Candidates must be able to work on their feet for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
We offer half-day or full-day shifts 2-4 days per week with base pay plus very competitive commission pay. Weekend and evening availability is strongly preferred. In the May-October busy season combined pay often exceeds $20/hour.
