Role Summary

Responsible for supporting 6K’s accounting and finance organization to help ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP on various accounting and technical accounting matters. Responsible for the transactional finance team across 6K’s entities. The role will be responsible for leading the simplification and unification of transactional accounting processes across 6K’s entities, developing accounting policies, procedures, and controls; and implementing new accounting standards. This role has exposure to executive leadership at the Company.

Operational Accounting Support:

• Manage month end close including cash, accounts receivable, PP&E, accounts payable, accrued expenses and intercompany activity across all 6K entities.
• Review teams journal entries and reconciliations at month end for accuracy
• Assist with accounting system implementations and drive transaction processing synergies and efficiencies across 6K entities.
• Assists with internal control implementation and documentation.
• Provide mentorship and coaching and create foundation to quickly grow/scale the team.

Technical Accounting Support

• Research US GAAP guidance and provide technical accounting guidance.
• Provides timely accounting support to strategic and complex business transactions.
• Leads implementation of new accounting standards applicable to 6K
• Drafts annual financial statements and footnote disclosures.
• Assist in drafting and updating accounting policies, procedures, and position (white) papers.
• Works with auditors to drive year-end audit fieldwork

Business Support:

• Participation in cross functional business partnering to drive business efficiencies.
• Assist in special projects, reporting, and analysis as needed.

Skills & Competencies:

• Experience managing a month end close process
• Ability to independently research a complex accounting issue, formulate a view, and prepare documentation.
• Highly proficient in Excel
• Experience in implementing accounting standards.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines and excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Previous people management with demonstrated ability to develop & coach a team.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables concurrently and pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Professional Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA (current active or inactive license)
• 6 years of accounting experience, including 3 years of public accounting firm experience.
• Experience with cost accounting and developing cost structure from the ground up.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.

What is preferred:

Experience using both NetSuite and Oracle.
