We’re looking for aspiring software engineers with completed coursework in Java and an interest in building enterprise software applications to join our team.
We are supporting a game-changing software development approach in support of the United States Air Force (USAF) and the Department of Defense (DoD) through robust DevSecOps pipelines and containerized software deployments to help deliver new software capabilities to everything from operations centers to F-16 platforms in support of the warfighter. Our team is looking for a software engineering intern who can work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. In this position, you will be a member of a highly collaborative, multi-contractor support team while also being embedded directly with government customers. We’re looking for team players who are willing to embrace collaborative development approaches (e.g. pair programming) and possess strong communication skills.
You will be supporting modern software development for USAF & DoD DevOps capabilities for a wide range of government customers. Physical location for this work will primarily be at Catalyst Campus in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. Catalyst Campus, located in the historic train station in downtown Colorado Springs, provides an open, collaborative work environment that inspires creative problem solving where engineers can work hard and play hard.
Required Skills:
The candidate must currently be pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field (e.g., Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Sciences), have completed at least two years of an undergraduate curriculum, and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
• Experience developing software web applications in JavaScript/Typescript or Angular/React.
• Familiarity with source code management tools such as Git
• Exposure to developing in a Linux and\or a Windows Environment
• Solid understanding of OO principles • Exposure to relational databases
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong analytical and problem-solving Skills
• Must be eligible for a government security clearance
• The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership ability through community or campus involvement. Candidates are expected to possess a positive team-first attitude, a willingness to learn, and strong initiative.
Desired Skills:
- Experience working in an Agile Software Development environment (Scrum/Kanban)
- Experience with using version control software and process (Git).
- Experience using Typescript libraries and frameworks (e.g. React, Angular.io)
- Experience with building RESTful web services & APIs (Swagger API)
- Experience with deploying web applications in Docker Containers
- Experience with hosting and maintaining web applications in Amazon Web Services
