What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Medicine Site Technician (PCT) position at 7100 WellNow Urgent Care, P.C.?
The Occ Med Site Support Technician will conduct Occupational Medicine visits at 1-3 dedicated locations (volume dependent) within a market. The objective of this role is to continuously improve the overall quality and delivery of these visits for both the Occupational Medicine patients we evaluate and the employers we serve. This role will be a Monday-Friday role open 8am-6pm. This position offers a balance of direct patient care and administrative work. As an Occ Med Site Support Tech, you will provide patient care as part of an dynamic interdisciplinary team. This includes assisting with employer driven physicals, work related injuries, and other Occupational Medicine visits including but not limited to: urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, spirometry, audiograms, vision screening, EKGs, blood draws etc. In addition, you will assist in completing paperwork, reviewing results, and coordinating the operational functions that deliver the Occupational Medicine visits occurring within your assigned clinic(s) ultimately allowing WellNow to better meet employer healthcare needs by mitigating errors and expediting results. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Clinical: Support provider staff in the admission, treatment & discharge of Occupational Medicine patients. Prepare patients for physical examinations & W/C injury care examinations - includes taking vital signs and performing all work-ups/required testing prior to the provider portion of the examination. Provide assistance during examinations and treatment as necessary. Perform ancillary testing tasks as directed (including but not limited to PFT, EKG, , audiograms, blood draws, etc.) Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing as required When working across multiple clinics, work cohesively with MSM to delegate/assign ALL clinical tasks to personal at accompanying sites on a daily basis. Operational: Assist in day-to-day Occ Med operational functions that coincide with the Occupational Medicine visits that occur within your assigned clinic(s). Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with clinical staff, providers, administrative staff (sales), & corporate customers. Manage Occ Med inventory (supplies/forms - drug testing, blood draw, COCs, etc.) and work with Clinic Lead to order as needed. Work with Clinic Lead to assist in the Occ Med training of clinic staff. Troubleshoot problems with Occ Med technical equipment and work with Clinic Lead/vendors to resolve. Calibrate ALL Occ Med equipment as required. (BAT, audio, PFT, eScreen etc.) When working across multiple clinics, work cohesively with MSM to delegate/assign ALL operational tasks to personal at accompanying sites on a weekly basis. Administrative Support: Support all day-to-day administrative functions for Occupational Medicine visits that occur within your assigned clinic(s). Review all paperwork for completeness and ensure errors are corrected prior to scanning into EMR. Scan all paperwork into EMR and attach to the patient chart. Make sure all OCC Med paperwork is shredded after being scanned into EMR. Report examination results to assigned DER by following the reporting instructions built into company profile/protocol. Check pending PPD folder daily to ensure all PPD’s are read, documented, scanned into the chart, and reported to the client. Make sure no-shows are documented and reported to clients. Check pending blood work folder daily, contact lab to get results as needed, have providers review/sign off on the results, report to client and scan into EMR as required. Work with Client Relations to correct any unforeseen errors as needed. When coordinating across multiple clinics, work cohesively with MSM to delegate/assign ALL administrative tasks to personal at accompanying sites on a daily basis. MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 1 to 2 years of healthcare related experience – proficiency in providing Occ Med services preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a dynamic, clinical office environment both independently and as a team. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Skill in organizing and establishing priorities. Must be detail-oriented and well organized. Demonstrated personal computer skills using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Must have at time of hire and maintain throughout employment a valid New York State Driver’s license. Ability to work additional hours, including nights and weekends as needed. Some travel may be required.
