What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of ICU/PCU position at 77 Consultants?
The Nursing Director for the PCU/ICU department is the first-line manager designated for this specific nursing area, its patient population, and assigned staff. With 24-hour responsibility for unit activity, the Nursing Director plans, coordinates, and directs fiscal, personnel, and patient care activities to ensure that standards of care and practice are met in a cost-effective manner. Responsible for integrating the nursing area(s) into the overall functioning of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum Work Experience: Previous supervisory experience in nursing required.
- Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Current clinical competence in an area relevant to the patient population.
- Certifications/License: Current unencumbered multistate or North Carolina Nursing License. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
Must-Haves:
- Current unencumbered multistate or North Carolina Nursing License (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience in nursing is required.
