Position Description:
80/20 Inc. is seeking an energetic Procurement Specialist II that is looking to grow with our team. This key position works closely with the Purchasing Manager and collaborates with team members in procurement and across the organization. Responsibilities include researching, identifying, selecting, and negotiating items with suppliers. This role works directly with vendors both domestically and internationally to maintain the supply chain for 80/20. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Researches and identifies prospective suppliers in all areas of the supply chain, including but not limited to, commodity purchasing, outsourcing, and fasteners.
- Prepares proposals, requesting quotes, and negotiating purchase terms and conditions.
- Analyzes costs, negotiates contract details, and offer risk management solutions.
- Makes bids for a supplier’s services and resolving issues regarding price disputes.
- Ensures appropriate terms and conditions, and other documentation, are setup with suppliers.
- High level interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients, and suppliers.
- Analyzes industry and demand trends and support management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
- Conducts regular meetings and communicates effectively with suppliers to create strong partnerships.
- Communicates with a high level of professionalism and a strong sense of urgency.
- Communicates price increases to Procurement Manager and monitor product margins.
- Additional assignments as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, business, accounting, or related field.
- 2 or more years of experience in a purchasing role for a production or manufacturing company.
- Displays a sense of urgency and internally motivated to perform at the highest level daily.
- Operates with professionalism, patience, diplomacy, and tact when dealing with customers, distributors and co-workers while being empathetic to their needs and their department’s KPIs.
- Possess a quality oriented, customer service mindset with a great attitude towards others and enjoy working in a tight knit team environment.
- Experience negotiating with vendors on quality, cost, and quantity metrics.
- Previous experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to be independent and a self-starter: is self-motivated and takes initiative.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
- Proven problem solving, analytical, troubleshooting and time-management skills.
- Ability to travel as necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $44.00 per hour
