WHAT YOU GET TO DO
The HR Specialist will collaborate with and provide support to the HR Generalist. The ideal candidate holds an academic HR background combined with work experience in HR and knowledge of HR best practices. The HR Specialist ensures that HR policies and processes are followed and performs a variety of assignments, as well as special projects for the HR department.

- Partners with HR Generalist and management on employee performance concerns, disciplinary action and conflict management.
- Conduct weekly New Hire Orientation session.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding administration.
- Manage workers compensation claims by being the liaison with the workers’ compensation carrier and employee. Ensure all documentation is collected and filed accordingly.
- Manage FMLA/LOA and ADA claims by being the liaison with the third party administrators and the employee/management team.
- Conduct exit interviews, summarizes finds and discusses trends and concerns with HR Generalist.
- Assists with employee recognition and employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist with developing, reviewing and implementing internal processes and ensure continuous improvement.
- Assist HR Generalist with employee relation discussions and investigations.
- Assist HR Team with generating and analyzing non – payroll related reports.
- Assist HR Generalist with internal projects and initiatives.
- Maintains an attitude and philosophy consistent with the company’s standards.
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace in partnership with Management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU HAVE
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- 3-5 years HR experience required.
- 1 or more years HR experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment strongly desired.
- SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR strongly desired.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing HR best practices.
- Strong administrative skills, including organization and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal and counseling skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now or other HRIS systems.
Working Conditions and Environment:
- Travel required up to 15%
- Authorization to work in the U.S
- Professional office etiquette is required at all times
- Physical requirements:
- Sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching at arm’s length, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
