Position Title: Information Technology (IT) Manager
Accountability: Reports to Director of IT & Data Systems
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Compensation: $80,000 - $92,000 Annually

The IT Manager plays a critical role in advancing A Better Way’s strategic goals by creating and maintaining secure, reliable systems, both cloud-based and on-premises at our 6 Northern California locations. The IT Manager is a member of the Senior Leadership team, collaborating closely with leaders and line staff across all administrative departments and client service programs. The IT Manager provides supervision to IT support staff and project/task oversight to vendors, consultants, temporary staff, and external partners. The IT Manager role requires an energetic, enthusiastic and hardworking team player, who can provide creative solutions to multiple issues under tight budget and time constraints.

Only current CA residents residing in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to travel to multiple sites in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, Santa Cruz and Solano counties will be considered.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Working with staff, our external vendors, and IT Support companies to:
- Ensure that IT and telecommunications infrastructure (including servers, computers, routers, cellular phones and landlines) remain functional and up to date.
- Maintain functionality and adequate inventory of all company IT hardware/software.
- Create, request, and present technical specifications and requirements for purchasing new hardware (including servers, workstations, and networking equipment) and locally installed/SAAS software via quote procedure; participate in selection of vendors.
- Create, understand, and help enforce policies and procedures related to equipment usage, privacy, and security.
- Participate in onboarding orientation/training for new hires.
- Allocate equipment and relevant user account information to staff as needed. (e.g., necessary software, usernames, passwords, proper access to drives)
- Troubleshoot/Solve Problems as they arise.
Windows system administration duties including server install, System/Application install and patch management, Windows problem determination and resolution, log analysis, etc.
- Configure, test, and maintain LAN equipment/services, including switches, routers, firewalls and VPN.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems including network connectivity, traffic utilization, etc. using available network tools in a timely fashion.
- Provide Infrastructure services in all areas needed: storage networking, OS, network security, on-premises and Azure Active Directory services, server virtualization using system backup and restore, system and network monitoring, application installation and configuration.
- Support end-user devices including Windows 10 workstations; iOS phones; and printers, scanners and other peripherals.
Administration of cloud SAAS systems including Microsoft 365 tenant, Azure resources, and multiple 3rd party tools (Zoom, DocuSign).
Collaboratively planning and implementing IT projects:

- Coordinate activities of ABW staff and vendors to meet project objectives.
- Document processes and procedures for IT technicians, and end users
Administrative functions includes:
- IT employee supervision, coaching, and discipline, providing direct weekly supervision.
- Co-managing budget (creation and monitoring) with Director of IT & Data Systems
- Approving vendor invoices and other expenses related to IT department.
- Attending and actively participating in required staff and committee meetings including biweekly managers’ meetings.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Computer Science/Information Technology Degree or at least 4 years hands-on experience in IT, networking, and/or technical support.
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance regulations and Zero Trust security best practices within a healthcare/human services setting.
- Strong supervision, organization, and management skills.
- Leadership skills and ability to respond calmly and professionally to unexpected situations.
- Highly competent in Windows 10 workstation and Server 2019 administration, configuration, support, and reporting.
- Understanding of networking protocols and cloud computing/storage technologies.
- Experience configuring & administering Microsoft 365 Tenant(s) and provisioning/securing Azure resources for a medium-size business.
- Collaborative can-do attitude with a commitment to exemplary customer service.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience using endpoint/mobile device management systems (InTune, Jamf) to provision and remotely manage devices.
- Ability to execute complex projects independently and as a team member, using helpdesk ticket systems for issue tracking.
- Expertise with MS Office and Office 365 applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with at least one modern scripting language (PowerShell 5.1 or 7 preferred)
- Proven ability in all phases of project development and change management, including developing and providing end-user training and documentation.
- Excellent critical thinking/problem-solving skills and great attention to detail.
- Basic computer repair experience (replacing batteries, memory, storage, displays) a plus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly work in an office setting at all ABW locations throughout the Bay Area. Certain job tasks are eligible for telecommuting with supervisor approval.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear, and lift objects weighing 50 lbs., and may need to climb ladders and work in confined spaces. Keyboarding and computer-based work are central to this position.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., unless otherwise required by supervisor. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for infrastructure projects to minimize impact on business operations.
Travel:
Local travel to multiple worksites is required, frequently on short notice. Ownership of a reliable automobile is required.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
Employees must pass a LiveScan check and receive TB and health clearances prior to employment. Good driving records are required and reviewed periodically in application of the agency driver safety policy.
