Our search begins for a Shipping Clerk - at our Lithia Springs, GA facility.
FUNCTION/SUMMARY: Perform duties to assemble and prepare customer orders and other items for shipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Accept responsibility for your Safety and the Safety of others by using Safety awareness to eliminate unsafe acts and correct unsafe conditions.
· Participate in Lean events and initiatives to support a culture of continuous improvement.
· Count, weigh, measure, or examine packaging and contents of items for conformance to company specifications.
· Compares items packed with customer order and other identifying data.
· Ensure all paperwork matches product being shipped.
· Prepare orders for shipment, pull items from staging locations, place in cartons and/or palletize as necessary, attach shipping labels, prepare bills of lading, contact carrier for pick up and load trucks utilizing a forklift or hand truck.
· Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
· Hand load cartons/product onto trailers or overseas containers. (dependent on facility)
· May assist with receiving, material handling, and grinder duties. (dependent on facility)
· Seek out most timely and cost-effective way of shipping product.
· Responsible for any other special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Forklift experience (Mandatory)
· High School Diploma or GED
· One year related experience
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Excellent written and verbal skills

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
