The ideal candidate is a safe and experienced paratransit driver with a passion for new technologies. You're highly organized, customer-oriented and attentive to detail.
As a a Paratransit Driver, you’ll:
- Train with the company to get an in-depth knowledge of the test vehicle.
- Train with a university research team to understand the research study and equipment.
- Drive 10-25 total volunteers in wheelchairs for the research study. For each volunteer, you will perform the following:
- Drive test vehicle to volunteer’s household (within 30 minutes of Washtenaw County).
- Drive test vehicle from volunteer’s household to research location.
- Drive the volunteer around the test location.
- Return the volunteer to their household.
- Return the vehicle to base, check its safety condition, and clean the interior and exterior as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years experience operating paratransit vehicles
- 3 years of driving experience with a clean driving record
- Valid driver’s license
- Comfortable with driving research vehicles
- Excellent customer service approach
