What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Painter position at A-Line?
Job Summary:
Prepare and apply finish coatings and paints to completed trailer parts to meet A-Line E.D.S. quality standards.
Job Duties:
- Prepare parts for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, masking and pressure washing
- Select and prepare paint and paint equipment
- Prepare correct paint for surfaces to be painted, set up equipment and perform all levels and types of painting
- Performs paint booth maintenance as necessary
- Clean and maintain spray gun and equipment
- Utilize and understand high-volume low-pressure paint system.
- Must be able to mix paint, catalyst, reducers, and additives per manufacture’s specifications
- Perform cleaning, prep, masking, load/unload, and rework of parts
- Move parts to be painted in and out of painting booths, using forklift and shag truck
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year or more of industrial painting experience preferred
- Valid Driver’s License is required
- Ability to wear respirator and sandblast hood
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Prolonged periods standing and walking
- Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of tools and equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
