A M King, an award-winning, integrated Design-Build firm based in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Designer for our Charlotte, NC, Greenville, SC, or Waukesha, WI location. We are searching for a motivated individual pursuing a career in architecture who will work with our team on a full-time basis to enhance project designs for our clients.

manufacturing, and corporate properties.
Job Description
Independently complete a variety of assignments to assist senior design staff in all project development from schematic design to project closeout. Proficiency in communications, Revit, and AutoCAD is required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and modification of schematic layouts, design development, construction documents, and revisions utilizing Revit and AutoCAD
- Correct red line drawings and markups
- Assist with creation of presentation materials (including Renderings) and coordination drawings using various software
- Research applicable code information and requirements for location jurisdictions, as well as preform initial code analysis for review
- Attend project planning, design coordination, construction, and post-project evaluation meetings & assist in the preparation of meeting minutes
- Travel to project sites as required to attend on-site meetings, field inspections & assist with existing conditions evaluations, field measurements, and collect photos
- Support senior design staff with construction administration process; including review and file management of RFI’s, submittals, and shop drawings
- Assist with file management and file distribution between A M King and consultants
- Package drawings sets, including printing, scanning, and mailing
- Research new products and materials & review standard specifications
- Effectively implement and uphold company standards
- Actively participate in Design Group meetings and growth initiatives, including training
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors or Associates degree in Architecture or Engineering (or related fields)
- 1-3 years minimum of relevant experience (experience with food processing or cold storage is highly valued but not required)
- Knowledgeable & proficient in the usage of Revit and CAD software programs and the ability to produce Architectural documents utilizing both programs (use of other modeling or rendering programs is highly valued but not required)
- Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft and Adobe suite programs
- Ability to work with others performing similar and/or support tasks related to design
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision but accessible peer mentorship
- Ability to read and understand Construction Documents and general knowledge of design drawing composition
- Ability to absorb information and ideas presented and effectively communicate design ideas
- Ability and willingness to travel via air/or ground for durations of 1 to 3 days
- Ability to practice safe personal conduct on active project sites
- Ability to represent A M King as a company professionally in personal appearance and behavior
