After School Program - Youth Care Worker ( part-time )

A New Leaf’s East Valley After School and Summer Program is a safe space for children to learn positive coping skills and move past personal challenges. Offering a compassionate environment, with attentive, trained staff – this program is a critical community resource for low-income families struggling to find services for their children.Pay: $17.00Location: Mesa, AZPart-Time Schedule: Shift, 2pm – 7:30pm (flexible with days, minimum work 3-4 days weekly)Responsibilities will include but not limited to:Document and submit significant and routine paperwork such as progress notes, statistics reports, daily activities, upcoming events, special concerns, varied incident reports, etc., as required by the program and submit to appropriate personnel.Utilize Positive Behavioral Support methodology when planning/participating in the activities to support child/family specific treatment goals.Engages in Family Centered, strengths-based treatment planning and coordination and reports client needs to Child and Family Team.Strengthens connections to positive community resources identified by the Child and Family Team.Serves as a member of a Child and Family Team, if requested by the family and attends all Child and Family Team meetings.Develops and maintains therapeutic relationships with clients and significant support systems.Provides information, education and guidance to clients and support system members, advocacy, and coordination of care.Provides minimal tutoring/help with homework, if applicable depending on identified ISP needs.Serves as positive role model/mentor for the client.Accompanies client to approved, medically necessary activities.Completes client satisfaction and monthly summaries as applicable.Collaborate with treatment team members and other programs internal and external.Understand the concepts of Trauma Informed Care.Qualifications:Education & Experience:High School or GED requiredAssociate or Bachelor’s, preferred0-3 years of behavioral health experienceRequirements:Must be able to pass various background checksMust pass pre-employment drug testValid Driver’s License with reliable transportation, preferredCurrent auto liability insuranceClean 39-month motor vehicle recordMust be at least 18 years of age  Benefits:401KPaid sick timeCareer advancement opportunities
