This role will have end-to-end Product Management responsibility through development, launch, incubation, and beyond. We are building a new innovative employer-focused platform, and we seek a senior product manager with true E2E knowledge and a passion to develop new solutions rather than just managing an existing one. This individual will work a with a team of product managers and provide that E2E oversight while maintaining tactical ownership of the execution of key aspects of the product experience. Flexing from a strategic mindset to a tactical one is key. In addition, managing stakeholders within a large organization is a key function of the role, and any potential candidate should embrace navigating those different groups and stakeholders. Prior experience with building and managing digital platforms is a plus. Prior knowledge of financial service is desired, but not necessary. Can you balance strategy, design, profitability and growth? If so, then we want to know more about you! As a Senior Consultant, Product Manager, you’ll be a senior member of a cross-functional innovation team and will be responsible for contributing and influencing the identification of opportunities for commercialization and independently contributing to opportunity assessments balancing desirability, feasibility and viability. You will independently lead research and concept design and ultimately shepherd the opportunity through build and incubate. We’ll count on you to make recommendations about feature set, scope, go-to-market plans, pricing and design features. Throughout the entire innovation process, you will lead coordination across the enterprise, including technology and design resources as well as Legal, Compliance and Marketing. Job Description Key Responsibilities: Identifies strategically attractive opportunities in partnership with cross-functional team. Drives development of seamless, simple, and intuitive solutions. Provides opportunity assessment, balancing desirability, feasibility, viability, in collaboration with the business lead. Manages research and concept design and execution. Owns the overall pitch and contributions to the opportunity business case. Develops product/feature strategy, roadmap and requirements with a cross-functional team, including technology, designers, business development and partner managers. Owns reporting on the offering. Utilizes metrics to investigate issues and uncover business-driving trends and patterns. Recommends vital course corrections. Helps prioritize initiatives and work across teams in order to drive value for Nationwide. Communicates frequently and clearly with other teams and leaders. May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Reporting Relationships: Reports to Team Leader. Typical Skills and Experiences: Education: Undergraduate degree, MBA preferred. Experience: Generally, seven to 10 or more years of customer-facing consumer or business product development and product management experience, including defining, launching and optimizing products and services. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven general knowledge of product development and lifecycle management processes, the ability to think strategically and execute methodically, and deep customer empathy and curiosity that’s paired with knowledge in how to gather and synthesize consumer needs. Outstanding written and verbal communications. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions. Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
