What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP Human Resources position at A2b Fulfillment Inc?
The VP of HR leads and facilitates all employment programs and activities, including pre-employment and post-employment.
Responsibilities include:
Corporate and Policy:
Employment Law and Best Practices. Ensure that company’s policies and procedures follow relevant employment law and best practices in each jurisdiction where it operates.
Policies and Procedures. Design, implement and manage HR policies and procedures, including maintaining up-to-date: Company Handbook, recruiting materials, benefit program summaries and job descriptions.
Safety. Design, develop and maintain Safety policies and Safety Training program.
Unemployment. Minimize unemployment claims of employees that are terminated for cause by following proper disciplinary and warnings procedures. Successfully represent company at unemployment hearings.
Worker’s Compensation. Work to reduce WC claims by promoting safety and best practices. Work with insurance carriers to facilitate claims and fight fraudulent claims. Investigate all accidents.
Compensation and Benefits. Work with other senior leaders to develop and maintain attractive compensation and benefits programs, including health, 401K and others. Conduct competitor wage and benefit surveys and employee job satisfaction and attitudinal surveys.
Manage employee benefits including FMLA, Short Term Disability and worker’s compensation.
Employees:
Recruitment. Develop, implement and lead effective recruitment and staffing strategies of a direct-hire employee base.- On-boarding. Design, implement and manage on-boarding programs that result in lower turnover, higher degree of cross-training and improved job satisfaction. [GL1] [GL2]
Employee Relations. Develop, implement and lead an effective employee relations program that fosters employee engagement, loyalty and retention.
Counseling. Counsel managers and staff members for success as well during disciplinary actions, terminations and exit interviews.
Employee Reviews. Design and implement a structured employee review process that reviews all employees at least quarterly. This is key to keeping all team members on task, aware of their performance as well as the courtesy of being heard.
Retention. Devise metrics to measure and analyze employee turnover, recommend and implement actions to improve. [GL3]
Administrative:
Payroll. Audit and submit payroll files accurately and timely.
Technology. Improve upon our use of technology, including Netchex to streamline workflow in the department.
- Create, monitor and manage HR Department budget.
Salary : $43,400 - $55,000
