Job Summary:
The Quality Team Leader works to train other team members on assembling and installing sub-assembly
components on commercial HVAC products. A majority of the work will be performed in traditional
assembly line fashion while working as the team leader. This method allows duties to be completed in a
safe and timely manner in accordance with relevant codes and quality standards. This position is the first
point of contact for any issues on the line.
The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities that are expected of a Quality Team Leader:
- Ensure unit standards are met and maintained for quality and productivity
- Check proper assembly and installation of each unit and parts (i.e., depending on assignment:
blowers, condensers, control board; all motors are proper voltage; all brazing procedures are
followed; correct charging of unit and charging procedures are followed; etc.)
- Train team members on assembling and installing sub-assembly components accurately,
- Keep and maintain up-to-date information on unit schedules and assembly/quality procedures
- Schedule time usage to meet production requirements and target quotas
- Print work order packets and make sure all work orders are correct

- Check and double-check for all necessary parts (i.e., depending on assignment: sensors, valves,
roof panels, etc.)
- Sign-off on all paperwork for sub-assemblies (blower assembly, condensers, wiring, copper,
end of line, check all paperwork and ensure all areas have been signed off by all QTLs
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of assembly procedures and equipment
- Enforce warehouse safety rules, housekeeping standards, and employee work practices in
- Inspect and assess blueprints, assembly drawings
- Communicate effectively with management and team to achieve department/company goals
- Monitor work environments
- Operate and use various hand tools
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments as needed
- Provide backup assistance for all aspects of production

In order to perform the essential functions of the job, the employee must be able to:
- Remain in a stationary position (primarily standing) for 95% of the time
- Move parts, tools and other objects weighing up to 25-50 pounds in all directions
- Traverse the manufacturing facility to accomplish tasks
- Operate heavy equipment, machinery and tools
- Repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and fingers
- Ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc.
- Position self in different positions to accomplish tasks, including in tight and confined spaces
- Communicate with others to exchange accurate information
- Observe/assess the accuracy and quality of the work assigned (frequently including detecting color)
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee will work in a manufacturing facility and regularly be
exposed to:
- Humidity, loud noises, dirt
- Varying and extreme temperatures (heat and cold)
- Sheet Metal
- Mechanical parts
- Forklift traffic
Minimum Required Qualifications:
An individual in this position must have the following minimum required qualifications. Education beyond
the minimum is an added advantage for career development activities.
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check
