What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN-Diabetes Education position at Aaron's?
Longstreet Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide diabetes education to patients and their families. Potential candidates will be part of Longstreet’s Diabetes Education Team. The Longstreet Clinics Diabetes Education program is certified by the American Diabetes Association (ADA). The diabetes educator will counsel patients and their families on medical nutritional therapies, diabetes medication management, and lifestyle and behavior modification needs. Team members provide individual and group patient education along with participating with Longstreet’s ADA advisory committee. Potential candidates will work closely with our team in the training process.
Requirements:
Education: associate or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
License: Current and active RN license with the State of Georgia board of Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
2 or more years of experience as an RN in a clinical setting.
Previous experience in a clinical setting managing diabetes.
If not already Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), would obtain certification in 2 years. On-the-job training will be provided to obtain this certification.
