Information Assurance Officer

Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking an Information Assurance Officer to provide daily physical and information security management activities at Kirtland Air Force Base.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Provide security support for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC).  Provide network and security support for current and future NIPR and SIPR networks.  Provide daily support to AFNWC personnel with pertinent documents and practices.  Train, assist, and ensure personnel adhere to provisions of DoD, JAFAN, and Intelligence Community Directive (ICD/ICS) daily.  Conduct an annual accountable classified material inventory.  Maintain and oversee a visitor control program.  Manage reproduction and destruction capability of classified information.  Assist in drafting, coordinating and maintaining local Security Policy, Guidance and Directions.  Coordinate with 377 ABW and AFNWC leadership on recommended changes to security policies and procedures.  Implement physical security controls to ensure information is safe and secure in accordance with DoD, AF HHQ and local security policies.  Perform all functions as the Information Assurance Officer (IAO) against user account activities.  Manage the AFNWC COMSEC account and program.  Provide support as the TCO for the AFNWC covering secure voice, Blackberry, and Apple devices and administrative support for end-users by phone and email.  Perform software license management and functions of alarm custodian and safe custodian.  Provide oversight for AFNWC software license program.

Qualifications

4 years experience in network administration and oversight including at least 3 years in the application of JAFAN 6/0, JAFAN 6/3, and ICD 705, and more than 2 years of IA management experience.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.  Must be Security certified (or hold an equivalent certification in compliance with DoD 8570 IAM Level I).  Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to multitask in both a team setting, as well as work independently in a rapidly changing environment.  Proficient in the use/application of Microsoft Office.  Able to lift and carry loads of no more than 50 lbs.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
