Abacus is looking to hire for a HR Director in the Glen Burnie, MD area.
Summary
The Director of Human Resources guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the entire company. The Director of Human Resources also provides leadership for the Human Resources Department and serves as an active member of Leadership Team. In addition to the requirements below, the employee must have a nurturing and caring demeanor, and have a genuine interest in supporting the independence of those we serve.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, employment laws, and total rewards. Uses this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, procedures, resources, and daily operations.
- Manage unemployment, worker’s compensation, benefits, EEOC, ADA, FMLA and other labor law programs ensuring the company is in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws; Directs the preparation of information requested or required for compliance with laws.
- Oversee the employee lifecycle. Review cutting edge research, data and analytics to modify and streamline processes according to industry standards and effectiveness as needed. Assist in employee relations and employee development process as appropriate
- Participate as an active member on the Leadership Team to help understand the organization’s goals and strategy as related to staffing, recruiting, retention, and all employee relations concerns.
- Monitor and advise managers in the progressive discipline system of the company, Monitors the implementation of a performance improvement process with under-performing employees, Reviews, guides, and approves management recommendations for employment terminations.
- Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Provides meaningful analytical data and action plans for recruitment, employee engagement and retention efforts.
- Oversee Training Program ensuring that employees comply according to the rules and regulations of OHCA, DDA and MBON
- Oversee the creation and publication of the Employee Newsletter and other employe branding and engagement material.
- Conduct and/or participate in employee related complaints, grievances, and investigations.
- Research and recommend changes in benefits offered, especially new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention. Ensure selected plans are implemented according to law, company policy; and ensure fiscal responsibilities are met.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
