What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at ABB Inc.?
As a Buyer, you will play a vital role in the procurement and logistics team in Analytical, Process Automation Measurement & Analytics (PAMA) in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. You will be responsible for purchasing materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule and terms. You will ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.

Your responsibilities- Identify new suppliers in cooperation with the relevant category team.
- Qualify new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering Specialists.
- Negotiate agreements with main suppliers and periodically renew price lists and terms and conditions.
- Adapt corporate contractual framework to the local business needs.
- Recommend frame agreements to management and execute upon approval.
- Analyze and evaluate bids in order to determine the optimal value.
- Support bid and proposal teams by providing relevant market information.
- Track goods received to verify appropriate delivery and ensure invoice processing.
- Oversee supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and resolve performance issues.
- Initiate Purchase Orders (PO) in the system, according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures and confirm delivery with suppliers, monitors and track supplier performance to PO requirements.
- Align supplier orders with customer requirements (based on ERP or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/project requirements) in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price.
- Manage of projects to ensure strong and stable supply chain in terms of cost, sustainability, compliance to regulations and ABB's Code of Conduct.
- Ensure the SAP Ariba platform is updated as defined in the procedure.
- Demonstrate ABB's core values and group safety and integrity standards and acts accordingly.
- Implement and ensure compliance with the ABB code of conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies and processes in their assigned area.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant internal and statutory regulations and policies.
- Ensure integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) terms, concept application, reporting and risks.
- Ensure adherence to the collaboration objectives of the team to maximize results for ABB.
- Lead their development journey by seeking knowledge and learning opportunities within the team.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders in their own area of responsibility and ensures alignment.
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or a minimum 10 years of experience or equivalent experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
- Demonstrated experience working with enterprise resource planning and standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, Lean Six Sigma, negotiation strategies.
- A collaborative, solution focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
