TMC- Freight Payment Specialist

Assisting the business function and/or Business Excellence Centers, as a Transport & Trade Specialist, you will ensure that goods are shipped while meeting quality, legal and costs parameters. You will drive change and improve transport/logistics processes to optimize product and material deliveries.

Your responsibilities
- Working with transport service providers and brokers to effectively execute processes and preparing proper documentation
- Maintain and improve freight pay processes to optimize receiving and paying carrier invoices.
- Communicates fulfillment status to DC, Sales, and Customer Ops.
- Provide accurate shipping invoice audits and/or related documents.
- Works closely with transport service providers and brokers to ensure efficient and effective execution process, assists in obtaining necessary backup documentation, where required.
- Coordinate and record freight claims and provide proper ownership and control until matters have been resolved.
- Comply with established financial guidelines and provide for the timely execution of all transactions.
- Resolve post shipment inquiries on payments or claims.
- Control and improve data accuracy of logistics cost tracking systems or reports.
- Aiding the development and implementation of improved processes and systems, and maintaining the master data
- Further tasks not involved in this Job Description that the immediate leader/manager assigns verbally or in writing.
Your background
- Bachelor’s Degree accredited intuition or equivalent work experience with 3-5 years of work experience in freight payment, bill of lading or supporting supply chain transactional tasks; Work experience in global transportation or trade/ logistics is highly preferred
- This position would require Bi-lingual skills (Spanish and English)
- Strong data and financial analysis, data management, investigative and quantitative skills in supply chain and billing environment
- Sound foundation of trade compliance, process control and cargo movement globally.
- Knowledge of SAP similar global trade platform
- Problem solving mentality and cross business communication is key to success in this role; Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences
- A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
- Experience working as a collaborator as well as and change agent within a team
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
