As a Digital Marketing Technology Manager, you will play a key role in managing Abbott’s Cardiac Arrhythmias & Heart Failure digital marketing platforms to support customer and business needs. 

This role is expected to demonstrate leadership expertise by providing strategic and tactical digital insight for web, email, social, mobile, and CRM. You will collaborate with various business teams, digital and content strategists, analytics, IT and other partners to drive platform health, implementation and best-in-class use.

This role will translate project and platform requirements into functional technology implementations, provide formal supervision and coaching for the core team and set direction to inspire the continuous improvement of digital policies, standards and procedures. You will share best practices, perform research and align platforms and features to business partners’ priorities and needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as the innovation and digital technology expert, providing architecture and technology oversight and guidance.
  • Manage the technical execution of innovation solutions including reviews and testing for implementation.
  • Provide management, coaching and professional guidance to direct report(s) with a focus on developing functional, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Establish and execute technology and innovation processes and standards (example: review board involvement).
  • Define technology tools and platform roadmaps across all digital channels, through strategic guidance and discovery of emerging digital platforms and channels.
  • Be an advocate and thought leader for technology and innovation for the Digital team and its business partners, considering immediate and long-term needs.
  • Influence IT decisions by preparing business cases as necessary and participate in IT technology reviews.
  • Work closely with IT development to represent use cases and communicate business priorities and user needs.
  • Manage contractor and third-party technology vendor relationships for innovation projects.
  • Work with the Analytics Manager to define key metrics and outcomes for technology that align with business goals.
  • Manage and mitigate technology-related issues for platforms and projects; work closely with IT and other partners to do so.
  • Create an innovation approach, partnering across teams, to bring the appropriate processes, tools and metrics to support new opportunities and partnerships across the organization.
  • Work closely with Corporate to adhere to and update standards across the enterprise for digital channels, brand standards and digital governance; ensure peers and business partners are informed.
  • Manage the budget for marketing technology and staffing.

General Qualifications:

  • 10 years of digital marketing experience, preferably in medical devices, healthcare or high-tech marketing.
  • 5+ years of digital technology project experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Public Relations, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience with the following platforms:
    • Required: Enterprise web platforms (AEM preferred)
    • Preferred: Marketing automation platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar), Google Analytics, sales CRM tools (Salesforce, marketing materials apps), social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube), databases
  • Efficient project management with ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Flawless attention to detail; highly organized.
  • Demonstrated use of analytics and data management in decision-making on platform features and use.
  • Experience with platform feature evaluation against business requirements, as well as prioritization.
  • Experience with agile methodology approach and tools (e.g. JIRA, Trello).
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and outside vendors, as well as collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including open communication and negotiating technical scope and dependencies.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Technical and analytic curiosity is a must.
