The Opportunity
Our location in Portsmouth, VA currently has an opportunity for a Warehouse Coordinator. In this role, you are responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient packing operation of Abbott Rapid Diagnostics PRT customer satisfaction standards. The main objective is to maintain a consistent prioritize all customer shipments and establish good practices, accurately and efficiently communicate daily carrier pick up schedules.
What You’ll Work On
- Conducts daily startup meetings.
- Organize, prioritize, train and print daily scheduled uploaded orders.
- Maintain a high level of organizational, professionalism and time management skills.
- Assists team members in scanning, sorting, packing, and shipment processing.
- Maintains cleanliness of the pack areas by sweeping floor, wiping up spills, and keeping pack stations organized.
- Follows and abides by all company safety rules.
- Verify all packing and shipping supplies are at an operational level.
- Ability to operate Microsoft office applications (Microsoft outlook, Microsoft word, Microsoft excel and Power Point)
- Perform random quality audits on customer shipments daily.
- Assist with daily cycle counts.
- Ability to sort and ship all orders prior to 3pm.
- Ability to cross train in all Government job assignments
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Determine daily flow of express and ground shipments.
- Ability to train/execute shipment via starship for Federal Express and United Parcel service.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Organize daily picking sheets.
- Monitor Government job picking, packing, shipping and replenishment activities daily
- Checking process for accuracy and to ensure customers’ orders are fulfilled.
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal customers.
- Assist with process improvements
- Submit Global Help Desk Tickets
- Lead Operational Excellence Meetings
Required Qualifications
- Min 5- 7 yrs of experience in the warehouse
- Requires High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8-10 yrs of relevant experience
- Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and good business judgment.
- Basic math skills to count product
- Ability to read product labels, chain of custody form, facility numbers and customer ship methods.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains and Scan Force
- Ability to follow work instructions
- Fork lift certification or ability to become certified (company provided)
- Ability to communicate discrepancies to lab manager
- Ability to calculate daily UPH and track daily and weekly performance percentage
- Conduct weekly performance observations
- Must be a solid communicator with problem solving skills
