Learning Links, by AbilityPath, is hiring a Developmental Specialist at our Burlingame and Mountain View Location!
The Developmental Specialist provides guidance and teaches collaboratively with teachers in the inclusive classrooms. Assists children with special needs, supporting classroom teachers to set developmental goals for children and making accommodations to the environment and adapting the preschool curriculum.
Compensation : $26-$28 / hr

ABOUT THE ROLE :
- Responsible for ongoing development, evaluation, and oversight of the child-centered, play-based curriculum for children with special needs, learning differences, and challenging behaviors in the classroom
- Provide effective classroom management in a co-teaching environment to create a thriving learning environment for all children
- Collaborate effectively and appropriately with teachers, administration, parents, and specialists (e.g., OT, ABA, SLP)
- Support Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) and meet with parents / caregivers, in conjunction with teaching staff, to interpret ASQs, and attend parent conferences when necessary.
- Co-teach with teachers and model developmentally appropriate classroom activities to support children with learning needs or identified special needs
- Coordinate collaboration meetings with service providers
- Incorporate learning goals and adapt developmentally appropriate activities for children with special needs and children who require support within the program
- Implement and support behavior support plans to prompt social-emotional learning
- Adapt curriculum to ensure appropriate accommodations to activities, classroom routine, and learning
- Collaborate with teachers, service providers, and Director of Inclusive ECE to identify developmental needs in children, advise and counsel parents regarding recommendations, and refer parents to appropriate resources
- Collaborate with the Director of Inclusive ECE to facilitate and promote social-emotional learning for all children
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE :

- Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s in Early Childhood Development
- Minimum three years of experience working with children ages 3-5 in an inclusive environment preferred
HIRING REQUIREMENTS :
- Clean Driving Record (if applicable)
- Proof of negative TB test results
- Verification of occupational physical clearance
- Pass a criminal fingerprint clearance
- 18 years of age or job permit clearance
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY :
