POSITION SUMMARY
Abiomed is looking for a Product Engineering Co-op to help lead the supply chain organization into the future. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working cross collaboratively with a global team to support manufacturing processes within the supply chain organization. This individual will support optimization and effectiveness of the global supply chain business processes and systems including their design, architecture, configuration, and integration across the business. They will gain experience in best-in-class manufacturing processes within supply chain and work cross collaboratively with quality, manufacturing, and regulatory teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support logistics warehouse configuration, including working cross collaboratively to support new product configurations, system requirements, performing equipment qualification, and evaluating new logistics technologies
* Attend product development project meetings, gaining experience with change management and process management within supply chain. Support release of inspection plans, material flow, shipping procedures using best practices.
* Support 5S initiatives in new Supply Chain and Logistics facility
* Support release of process documentation (assembly procedures, routers, travelers, BOMs, process flows, and process FMEAs
* Support initiatives with Product Management and Regulatory teams to ensure label and packaging configurations are appropriate for localized requirements.
QualificationsREQUIREMENTS
* Student pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering
* Knowledge of 5S, Six Sigma, Lean
* Understanding of project management
* Demonstrated critical thinking in a fast paced environment
* Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment while continually and constructively challenging the status quo.
* Dedicated, passionate and eager to learn.
